Brisbane Marriage Celebrant
Brisbane is home, and a wonderful city to get married in. Ceremonies here tend to happen beside the river or with the skyline behind you, in a leafy park under the jacarandas, or in a backyard with everyone you love gathered close.
Whether it is a big celebration in the city or something small in the suburbs, I will write a ceremony that feels like you.
Suburbs I travel to
I travel all over Brisbane, from the hills out west to the bay.
- North and west: The Gap, Ashgrove, Paddington, Bardon, Toowong, Indooroopilly, Kenmore, Brookfield, Samford, Chermside and Sandgate.
- Inner city and east: Fortitude Valley, Newstead, New Farm, Teneriffe, Kangaroo Point, South Brisbane, West End, Bulimba, Hamilton and Ascot.
- Bayside and Redlands: Wynnum, Manly, Cleveland and Victoria Point.
Popular ceremony spots in Brisbane
These are a few of the popular spots for a Brisbane ceremony.
- The WarehouseA restored 1905 warehouse in Fortitude Valley with exposed brick, arched windows and a rooftop terrace, for a ceremony and reception under one roof.A personal favourite: it’s where I got married.
- The RefineryA renovated warehouse in Newstead, minimal and modern, with a private garden for the ceremony and the warehouse for the reception.
- The JoineryA warehouse-style space on Montague Road in West End, with a lattice façade, a courtyard and an enclosed terrace, for a ceremony and reception in one place.
- The Calile HotelA boutique hotel on James Street in Fortitude Valley, with a resort-style pool, for a stylish city wedding with your guests staying close by.
- City Botanic GardensHeritage-listed riverside gardens in the city with big shady trees, suited to a classic garden ceremony.
Good to know
Most public parks in Brisbane need a booking with Brisbane City Council before you can hold a ceremony there, and bayside spots in Cleveland and Victoria Point fall under Redland City Council. Check with the council for your spot early, as popular parks can book out in spring.
Brisbane summers are hot and humid, and storms often roll in during the afternoon. If your date is between November and March, a morning or late-afternoon ceremony and a spot with some shade will keep everyone comfortable. We will agree on a wet-weather plan together, so a storm never catches you out.
Inner-city spots are busy, so allow time for parking and think about where guests will gather.
Travel
Travel within 50km of the Brisbane CBD is included in my Micro, Legals Only and Elopement ceremonies, and within 100km in the Full Ceremony. Almost every Brisbane couple falls well inside that. If you are near the edge, I will confirm it when you enquire.
